Barcode Packages with Unique Company Prefixes
Our barcode packages of 10, 100, 1,000, and 10,000 numbers come with a unique company prefix. A company prefix is a string of numbers, typically between 5 and 11 digits, that uniquely identifies your business.
While having a company prefix is not generally required to scan and sell products, some larger retailers may insist on vendors using their own prefix. This helps differentiate one company from another within Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. For more details, see our Barcode Acceptance page.
We offer four barcode packages that include a unique company prefix, available for purchase below. If you plan to expand your product range in the future, it’s best to choose a package with a sufficient allocation of barcode numbers. Once your product codes are fully allocated, you’ll need to purchase a second prefix. This is the case whether you purchase through us or directly from GS1.
To avoid running out of product codes, we recommend selecting a package that considers your current needs and potential future growth.
